Fossils

Paleontology deals with the science of living creatures and life in the geological past from an age of 10,000 years before today. The focus is on fossils that bear witness to a world long gone.

From Devonian armored fish to the Iguanodon dinosaur from the Cretaceous period, the GrenzWelten Geopark has a considerable number of extraordinary fossil finds of worldwide significance to offer. The finds are exhibited and explained in one of the numerous museums, but the sites can also be visited on your own or as part of one of our Geopark tours.
