The Kyrill Trail in Willingen

If you want to experience the elemental forces of the storm Kyrill in 2007 at close range, you should go on the Kyrill Trail.

A nature trail has been created on the 838-meter Ettelsberg, where the consequences of the storm can be clearly seen. In the area of about one hectare, nothing has been changed since the hurricane; here, nature is left to its own devices. The spruces are still lying there just as Kyrill threw them down, some of them broken off, most of them torn out of the ground together with their roots. Individual trunks are sticking up in the air, some have splintered off at a height of a few meters, others have been hit further down. The natural path winds through the middle of this mess.

The Kyrill Trail is not only a place to go for hikers and guests; kindergarten groups and school classes also embark on an educational expedition here. Sturdy shoes are a must when exploring the nature trail!
