The trail has a length of about 5 kilometers and is marked with signposts. During the hike, you will see the close connection between the present-day configuration of nature and the historical work of the people living in the Kellerwald. Geology, flora and fauna, mining history and cultural development are vividly presented on site. A refuge, from which you can enjoy a beautiful view of the village, invites you to take a rest.
Our tip
Combine your visit to Bergfreiheit with a detour to the "Bertsch" visitor mine. Copper ore was mined here as early as the 16th century. Here you can also start your hike on the nature trail.
