Border and story trail Haine

The approximately 2.5-kilometer-long theme trail was opened to the public on April 8, 2016 in Allendorf (Eder)-Haine (Ederbergland Geopark Region).

The trail explores the old state border between the Grand Duchy of Hesse-Darmstadt and the Electorate of Hesse-Kassel, which runs right through the Haine district. In addition, the trail also marks a geological border, namely the transition from the Rhenish Slate Mountains to the Hessian Rift Valley ("Frankenberger Bucht").

The starting point is the newly designed "Inselplatz" in the center of Haine. A leaflet informs about the route and the historical background. It is available directly from the information desk on the island square, from the municipal administration (www.allendorf-eder.de) or from the Haine village beautification association.
